Sticks are the first things I began to carve, and are based on a traditional Mi'Kmaq aptum. In Mi'Kmaq (Canadian east coast aboriginals) the aptum is much like the totem pole of the west coast, in that they tell a story and record history. To our people the aptum is a sacred object, and often used in ceremony.

I use the teachings of the aptum to create my hiking sticks, which are still used traditionally. This culture is shared with anyone who carries one off my sticks.

My walking sticks and staffs are hand carved and painted with dyes. All of the materials used are traditionally collected and prepared. They are of the higest quality in craftsmenship and each piece is an original 'one of a kind.'
